Supreme Court judgement on Wednesday voided the Ibadan November Convention of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP that produced Senator Tanimu Turaki as the National Chairman of the party.

Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde belongs to the camp of Senator Tanimu of the party.
In a split decision delivered on Thursday, April 30th, three out of five justices of the apex court held that the appeal filed by the Tanimu Turaki-led faction of the PDP lacks merit.

Stephen Adah, who read the majority decision, held that the appellants violated a subsisting order of the federal high court which restrained them from proceeding with the planned convention.

Governor Makinde will take critical political decisions in the next few days where all candidates of the party in Oyo State will contest.
