TASS, one of Russia’s leading news agencies, produces about 3,000 news reports and 700 photographs daily, operating around the clock to keep the public informed.
This was revealed during a visit to the agency by participants in the New Day Education Competition and Study Expedition 2026. The visit provided an opportunity to learn about its history, operations and role in international journalism.
Established in 1904, TASS has a long history of news gathering and distribution. The agency publishes news in six languages and provides coverage of political, economic, sports and other major developments around the world.
The agency also hosts regular press conferences featuring politicians, sports leaders, heads of agencies and other public figures who discuss issues of public interest.
The visit offered participants an opportunity to gain practical knowledge of journalism, understand the operations of an international news agency and build professional connections as part of the ongoing study expedition.
