The piece by my dear brother and friend, Mutalubi Ojo Adebayo, SAN has confirmed my conviction that Bimbo Adekanmbi is not prepared to govern Oyo state.
He was just drafted by Seye Famojuro and Governor Seyi Makinde to be a pawn in their political chess game.
When I reviewed the performance of the Allied People’s Movement, APM gubernatorial candidate, on Arise Television the other day and I labeled the performance as a failure, supporters of Governor Seyi Makinde went into a chaotic frenzy.
To them, Bimbo Adekanmbi performed wonderfully well. I never bothered myself about their confused opinion, but, I have kept wondering why someone, whose brilliance is never in doubt, would go for a Television appearance and performed as woefully as Adekanmbi did on the day.
Learned Silk, Mutalubi Ojo Adebayo, SAN has satisfied my curiosity.

In a piece titled, ” GSM, BIMBO ADEKANMBI, OMI TUNTUN 3.0 AND ENGINEER SEYI MAKINDE’S THIRD TERM AGENDA PATHWAY”, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria related his encounter with an Ibadan Elder, who, he said he revered and who is also an avowed lover of Seyi Makinde.
He said the elderly man visited him in his office with the determination to plead with him to support Bimbo Adekambi, who, the Elderly Ibadan man referred to as Seyi Makinde’s ” anointed Gubernatorial candidate”.
He said the Elderly man based his plea on the foundation that Bimbo Adekambi must be supported so that Oyo state can have and enjoy Omi Tuntun 3.0 ceaselessly.
He said that at a point, he had to interject the speech of his visitor to ask him why Bimbo Adekambi is being referred to as Seyi Makinde’s anointed Gubernatorial candidate and not simply, Allied People’s Movement APM Gubernatorial candidate.
According to the Learned Silk, his guest responded by saying that he could swear with anything to convince him that Adekambi never wanted to be Governor at all, but Governor Makinde saw some good qualities and attributes in him which all other interested aspirants lack and which are mostly the qualities and attributes that any outstanding and very good Governor must possess. Hence, Governor Makinde’s insistence and directive that it MUST be Bimbo Adekambi and no one else for Governor.
Imagine that!
Governor Seyi Makinde, single handedly saw some qualities and attributes in Bimbo Adekanmbi and that is why he insisted that Bimbo Adekanmbi is the only human being suitable to succeed him, according to the Elderly man.
It doesn’t matter whether Bimbo Adekanmbi was mentally and emotionally ready for the job. Governor Makinde had seen some qualities and attributes in him and so, all of us must sing and clap.
Unfortunately, what is at stake is not Governor Makinde’s private enterprise. It is the Governorship of Oyo state.
I am sure that the Elderly man who visited my Dear friend, Mutalubi Ojo Adebayo SAN might not know that, actually, Seye Famojuro had been alleged as being the brain behind the candidature of Bimbo Adekambi and if he knew, he wouldn’t have told the Senior Advocate.
Head or tails, Bimbo Adekanmbi is not prepared for leadership and that is why it has been very difficult for him, if not impossible, to find his voice.
It’s always been Seyi Makinde everywhere. Every time.
That is why he was asked to identify two critical projects he will execute if he is elected as Governor of Oyo state and he failed to identify just one.
That is why he was asked to speak about the security situation in Oyo state and what he would do differently and he kept mixing Oyo with Ogun state during the Arise Television Interview.
Whatever attributes Governor Makinde and Seye Famojuro identified in Bimbo Adekambi, it is not for public good.
It is for selfish reasons and that is why I have been saying that I pity Bimbo Adekanmbi.
He doesn’t belong in this set up. Sadly, he has allowed himself to be used for an Agenda he knows little about.
The position Governor Seyi Makinde has led Oyo state to, is very critical. Oyo state is like a patient in the Intensive Care Unit, ICU.
Huge debts. Infrastructural deficits in the rural areas, poor health sector, an education sector that lacks clear cut direction. At the last NECO examination, Osun state placed 5th while Oyo languished at 27th position. Far below Bandits ravaged states of the North. That is unacceptable.
We can not cope with a Governor who is dragged into the race against his conviction.
Bimbo Adekanmbi is a brilliant young man. No doubt about that, but it is apparent that he is not prepared for the challenges of governing Oyo state in 2027.
He should retrace his steps, get out of Babylon and start preparing himself for the future.
