A gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general election, Dr Ololade Usman Bakare on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja ARUSA I.
Dr Bakare while briefing journalists said the purpose of the visit was to formally inform Olubadan about his gubernatorial ambition and to seek royal blessings.
The cyber security expert said he recognised that leadership is not merely about political aspiration but about service rooted in culture, history and collective destiny of people. He added that the throne of Olubadan symbolises unity, stability and continuity.
Dr Bakare who was joined by Mogaji Akere pledged his commitment to the growth and development of Ibadanland and Oyo state at large. While speaking further at Kabiesi’s residence, Dr Bakare shared his vision of inclusive governance, infrastructural renewal, youth empowerment, economic expansion, and strengthened traditional institutions.

While speaking further on why he visited Olubadan, Dr Bakare said he sought Kabiesi’s prayers for wisdom, courage, and discernment as he embarked on important journey. He stressed that leadership requires divine guidance and the counsel of elders. Bakare revealed that he was encouraged by royal father’s fatherly advice and blessings.
“Ibadan has always played a pivotal role in the political and economic evolution of Oyo State. With the support of Olubadan, other traditional institutions and goodwill of our people. I am confident that we can usher in genuine “Greater Oyo” laced with prosperity, security and progress”.
Also in the entourage of Dr Bakare were; Alhaja Larodo, Mogaji Jubril Alabi, Mrs Bola Immaculate and Hon. Yisau Olagoke.
