In the course of this week, I featured on Dr. Bayo Faleke’s Podcast, Coreroom.
One of the topics we discussed was the violent attacks during political activities.
He asked for my opinion and I was very blank about my opinion that, on each occasion when violence was reported, the Allied People’s Movement, APM of Governor Seyi Makinde was fingered as the aggressors.
I made it clear that no political party or candidate had fingered the All Progressives Congress, APC as the aggressor in any of the reported violent attacks.
On the day before the interview, the Accord Party Gubernatorial candidate, Oriyomi Hamzat and his followers were attacked around Molete area and on the day I granted the interview, a young man was reported dead while several others were injured.
Oriyomi and the Accord Party fingered the APM as the attackers.
Before that day, the Senatorial Candidate for the APC in Oyo South Senatorial District, Hon. Remi Oseni was attacked by suspected APM thugs.
The convoy of the wife of the Oyo state APC Gubernatorial candidate and a candidate for the House of Representatives in Ibadan were also attacked by suspected APM thugs.
During the interview, I sounded a note of warning to Governor Seyi Makinde and his rabid dogs.
Unknown to me, another brazen attack would still be carried out.
At Ward 6, Ibadan South West Local Government, it was alleged that one Idowu, who is said to be a younger brother to the Chairman of the Park Management System, PMS in Oyo state, Tommy, or what is the clown called, sent thugs to lure a young man, whose nickname is ” Paul More” to a particular place.
Paul More, according to report, was a member of the APM, but he had crossed to the APC.
The thugs allegedly sent by Idowu eventually beat and matcheted Paul More to death after he refused to follow them.
I woke up to see the very disturbing video of Paul More’s lifeless body.
I want to draw the attention of the general public to the statement of the ” Wild wild West” made by Governor Seyi Makinde earlier this year.
I also want to draw the attention of the general public to the numerous violent attacks linked to Governor Seyi Makinde in the past.
I want to refresh our minds to the confessions by Auxiliary and the violent attacks at Eruwa in 2021 and that of Igangan in 2023.
These attacks claimed several lives and unfortunately, I am not aware that anyone was arrested, not to talk of any prosecution.
The cup is full and we have to do the right thing at this point.
We can not allow some mad men to throw our otherwise, peaceful society to a theatre of war.
I am calling on the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and relevant security agencies to revisit the violent attacks of Eruwa in 2021, that of Igangan in 2023, the confession by Auxiliary, and the fresh attacks on Hon. Remi Oseni, the wife of the Oyo APC Gubernatorial candidate, Mrs. Folake Olunloyo, Oriyomi Hamzat and, lately, Paul More.
We are not in a zoo.
I definitely will send petitions to appropriate Authorities regarding this unfortunate incidents.
