In a recent visit to AGIDIGBO FM, Distinguished Senator Dr. Yunus Abiodun Akintunde, representing Oyo Central, engaged in a panel journalism session, where he answered questions from the anchors and addressed the public.

With transparency and conviction, he highlighted his notable engagements and achievements during the last seven months so far spent in the Senate despite being on election tribunal and Appeal on his election for over five months, shedding lights on ongoing projects and clarifying important matters.

During the session, Senator Akintunde proudly shared the progress made in Oyo Central Senatorial District including the establishment of four ICT centers and the construction of seven new schools while renovation is on going in some other schools within the various Local Governments in the constituency.

He emphasized his commitment to job creation by facilitating employment opportunities for electrical engineers and assisting Awoola Jeleeli Esq, who secured the first position in a competitive examination conducted by the Police Service Commission.

Furthermore, Senator Akintunde played a pivotal role in the transformation of Ayegun Oleyo Road into a federal road, securing a substantial sum of 1.5 billion naira from the 2023 supplementary budget.

He also ensured that constituents received grants worth of 350,000 naira, and empowerment initiatives for tailors, providing them with tools, equipment, and a startup capital of 30,000 naira.

Recognizing the importance of agriculture, Senator Akintunde facilitated the distribution of fertilizers to farmers in Oyo Central. Additionally, he secured renovation projects for schools such as Muslim Comprehensive High School, Liberty, Durban, St. Joseph Primary School Gbedun Ona Ara, and Ansarudeen Primary School Alagbon, among others.

Senator Akintunde highlighted his active role in various committees, discussing his oversight function and involvement in budget preparation. When questioned about his involvement in other regions, he emphasized that his dedication to serving humanity and society extends beyond Oyo Central,

A commitment he copiously demonstrated while presenting bills at Senate plenary sessions when he moved motion against increment in electricity tarrifs and his on going bill on the upgrade of the Federal College of. Education (Special) in Oyo which obviously would serve the entire nation.
His recent visit and engagement of the Management of University College Hospital UCH as collaboration efforts.

During his legislative session, Senator Akintunde moved the motion to address the issue of high electricity tariffs and supported the motion to urge the National Association of Resident Doctors to suspend their strike, prioritizing the well-being of constituents.

There are several ongoing projects in Oyo Central that are aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for the constituents.

Some of these projects include the construction of a new hospital in Oyo west nearly commissioned
And has promised to do more in human Capital development, infrastructural projects, solar lights and borehole systems in Oyo central .

He siezed the opportunity to clarify the constituents on the issue of rice palliative and he responded that him and other senators as at when the interview was held is yet to receive rice palliative from the executive.

Finally, he encouraged all constituents to seize the ongoing job vacancies in the Air Force, Navy, Fire Service, and Technical Aid Course, emphasizing the importance of taking advantage of such opportunities and most especially the police recruitment where he has the opportunity not just as the deputy chairman senate committee on police affairs but also the chairman subcommittee on police recruitment.
