Kinloba awure, iwa loba awure ooo.
I will like to refer Governor Seyi Makinde and his rabid supporters to my story of 2025 which I titled ” A Massive Wind”.
I also wish to refer them to another story titled, ” Babylon Will Fall”.
I have to admit that the inspiration behind those stories are beyond, even, my wildest imagination.
It was after the stories were written that I discovered that they were prophetic statements.
Sadly, supporters of Governor Seyi Makinde went into a frenzy when those stories broke and they swarmed on me like bees, throwing all manner of insulting darts at me.
Those were the days Sulaimon Olanrewaju was busy giving me all manner of names.
First, it was ” Beelzebub”, later he called me the ” Masquerade man”

Honestly, I used to derive joy in their state of commotion at the time and even now.
Just this morning, I have come across several resignation letters from the Government of Seyi Makinde and the Allied People’s Movement, APM and at this point, I have lost count of such letters.
I am not surprised. More and more reasonable and sensible individuals will continue to flee from Governor Makinde’s Babylon before it finally collapsed on the recalcitrant ones who would rather follow the fly to the grave.
When an old building begins to show signs of coming down, only a fool will remain inside it to watch it collapse on him.
You will wonder why I was so sure that Governor Makinde was headed in this perilous direction years ago.
I had identified the weaknesses of the Oyo state Governor a long time ago.
The foundation of his problems are his insatiable ego and stubborness. He is also someone who does not know how to cherish and nurture relationships, but the foundational problems are the ones highlighted.
It is his ego that makes him believe that he could do away with anyone and walk away with it without suffering negative consequences.
He became so egoistic to the extent that he failed to understand the fact that the immunity conferred on him as a sitting Governor is the only reason he committed so many errors without paying for them immediately.
He got so drunk with power and he forgot that, one day, his tenure as the Governor of Oyo state will come to an end and so also, his immunity from prosecution.
He became so full of himself to the extent that, he thought, if he fought with the whole world, he would still have his ways. No wonder he declared that he was going to rain abuses on Obas.
I must say, that Governor Makinde got help in the project of destroying himself and the most notable helpmates in this regard, are, Seye Famojuro and the birthday boy.
These are people who got the Governor’s ears, but what have they been telling him? “Carry on”. “The world is at your feet.” That is their song and it sweetens the Governor.
How could a sensible human being keeps playing down the hot debate on Local Government Autonomy, referencing the incidents of 2023? Unfortunately, that is the harm the birthday boy had done to Makinde and it gladdens our hearts.
You might want to say, oh, don’t blame the birthday boy, he is only looking for what would feed his fat belly. Perhaps, but, what are friends for?
If Governor Seyi Makinde is bent on ruining the Local Governments, shouldn’t people, who have his ears point to the destruction that is steering everyone in the face across the 33 Local Governments.
Yes, Governor Makinde is very stubborn. He, himself admitted to that, but, shouldn’t his friends have told him the ugly truth and damned the consequences?
Infact, Governor Seyi Makinde is ridiculously funny. How on earth will you equate loyalty to stupidity?
Some people are downright stupid and they will call it loyalty, but, not everyone is.
When he forced Bimbo Adekambi on the Allied People’s Movement, I told him how the story would end.
When he thought he was fooling the Muslim Community with the choice of Bimbo Adekambi and the narrative that competence is the main reason for Adekambi’s choice, I warned him that there would be consequences.
Obviously, Governor Seyi Makinde would become a reference point of how not to waste political opportunities in our political lexicon.
I have not stopped wondering, how someone so blessed, so lucky, would still end up, ruining everything he achieved through his indescretions.
Governor Makinde reminds me of Okonkwo, the main character in Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart.
As great and fearless as Okonkwo was, he ruined his legacy through his fiery anger.
What would have been the case today, if Makinde is not having issues with Hon. Mulikat Adeola, Senator Hosea Agboola, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, H. E, Amb. Taofik Arapaja, Baba Oyelese, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, Alh. Bisi Olopoeyan, Alh. Razak Gbadegesin, Ayo Fayose, Nyesom Wike, president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and many others, too numerous to mention?
He would have been the defacto godfather of Oyo politics.
The Governor of Osun state, Ademola Adeleke was confronted with a lot of problems and persecution on his way to a second term in office. He navigated through all the challenges cleverly.
Throughout his trying period, he remained calm, dignified, respectful, reserved and humble.
In his shoes, Governor Makinde would have started World War 3 and the consequences would have been very unpalatable for him.
I remember telling the Governor once, that he can not sustain the battles he was waging on different fronts at the same time.
Like I said, more and more reasonable people will continue to leave Governor Seyi Makinde.
The bleeding will not stop.
At the National level, his clownish presidential ambition will die a natural death. It will fizzle out.
His personality will continue to take a downward tumble.
Nigerians will only listen to a presidential candidate who has substance, not someone who is jumping around like a toad.
Eni a wi fun, Oba je o gbo.
