The Oyo State House of Assembly ably led the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyi has pledged to partner with Local Governments in the state to overcome incessant flooding.
Oyo State House of Assembly noted that the level at which state is recording flood is worrisome at its plenary yesterday.
The speaker said the situation has called for urgent and proactive steps from all stakeholders in the state.
It would be recalled the June 30th heavy downpour in the state caused a lot of damages to the people and property worth millions of naira were destroyed.
Oyo Assembly has revealed its readiness to join hands with Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas chairmen in the state in dredging waterways and clearing of blocked drainage to pave way for free flow of water.
Effort would be concentrated more in the flood prone Local Government Areas in the state so as to reduce the rate at which people lose property during heavy downpour, said;Speaker.
