Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo invites the general public, academics, and cultural enthusiasts to the historic inauguration of the Alaafin Institute of Yoruba Studies.
According to a release made available by the institution’s Media and Public Relations Officer, Wale Adeoye, “as Nigeria’s first teacher-training institution, EAUED is proud to pioneer this landmark institute dedicated to cultural preservation, research, and academic excellence.”
According to him, the theme of the event, “Preserving the Past, Educating the Future: The Renaissance of Yoruba Intellectualism” will hold on Tuesday, 14 July 2026 by 10:00 a.m. inside the 1,500-Seater Auditorium, EAUED, Oyo”
The event, which has Prof. Toyin Falola (University of Texas at Austin) as the Keynote Speaker will have His Imperial Majesty, Alaafin of Oyo, Iku Baba Yeye, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, Elewu-Etu 1 as the Royal Father of the Day.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Olaniyan is the Chief Host while the Institute’s Director, Prof. Akinkunmi Alao will be the host. The release further states that Prof. Ademola Bewaji Dasilva, Prof. Sola Olorunyomi, & Prof. Arinpe Gbekelolu Adejumo would sit as discussants at the historic programme.
