Oyo State security agencies have arrested local pastor suspected of serving a key logistics supplier to the armed group responsible for the mass abduction of students and teachers in Ahoro-Esinele and Yawota communities, Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
ARISE TV reports that the pastor is alleged to have provided weapons, ammunition, drugs and vehicles and operation gear to the terrorists.
The security operatives didn’t disclose the identity of the pastor and name of the Church to achieve overhaul investigation over the sad incident. Police sources indicated that the arrest forms part of a broader operation targeting individuals suspected of aiding or collaborating with the criminal group.
The arrest of the pastor came amid intensified security operations following the Oriire school abduction, which triggered widespread concern across Oyo state and beyond.
