I knew I wasn’t mistaken that Governor Seyi Makinde is billed to be honored with the “Aare Asoludero Of Ibarapa Land” Chieftaincy Title on Friday, when he is billed to commission the renovated Eleruwa of Eruwa Palace.

Talk of honor, I see nothing honorable about the whole planned ceremony.

In the first instance, who is honoring who and with what? The Chieftaincy Title in question will be coordinated by Samuel Adebayo Adegbola.

For me and in the face of the Law, that individual has no right to sit on throne of the Eleruwa as we speak.

His illegal installation for a record second time by Governor Seyi Makinde is in violent disobedience of the Judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

His installation is a product of executive rascality of the highest order.

Secondly and most importantly, I would be shocked if Governor Seyi Makinde presents himself to commission the Palace or accepts a Chieftaincy Title on Friday.

Before the Governor’s attack dogs pounce on me, they should hear this. The same Governor Seyi Makinde, about a year ago, during the illegal Coronation ceremony for the same Samuel Adebayo Adegbola, said that if he has not finished the rehabilitation of the 48klm Ido-Eruwa Road, he shouldn’t be allowed to come to Eruwa.

The question is, what is the state of the said Road as at now? The answer is simple. The rehabilitation is yet to even reach half completion.

Now, be the judge. Governor Seyi Makinde’s promise of about a year ago makes it the third failed promise on a Road project which is just 48km.

Only God knows the number of contractors that had been engaged to work on that Road, yet, the story remains the same.

No one forced Governor Seyi Makinde to make another desperate promise last year.

Now that he has been unable to deliver on the promise, is it honorable for him to go to the same Eruwa to receive a honorary Chieftaincy Title?

Perhaps, I should also add this. Apart from the hurried rehabilitation of some township roads, totalling, roughly, around 2 klm, the only project Governor Seyi Makinde could point to in Eruwa is the renovation of the Eruwa Palace.

According to some sources, it was alleged that the renovation of the Palace cost around eight hundred million Naira, ( that is, if there are no variations on the contract), which I doubt.

It was further alleged that the contractor who handled the renovation is linked to the Speaker of the Oyo state House of Assembly.

The resources expended are that of the Ibarapa East Local Government, it was further alleged.

You will recall that hundreds of millions of Naira, belonging to the Local Government was approved for the Coronation ceremony a year ago.

Only God knows how much is also currently being wasted on the one year anniversary of the celebration of an illegal Oba.

Almost two years ago, Governor Seyi Makinde performed a ceremony where he handed over the Eruwa Farm Settlement, including the Eruwa Water Works to some unknown entities.

Up till today, nothing has happened in that place. No one knows those who took over the place and the place has become a forest, fit for harbouring criminals.

Governor Seyi Makinde also attempted to sell the Eruwa Cashew Plantation situated at New Eruwa -Orisumibare village.

We made a lot of noise at the time and only God knows the status of the place as we speak.

So, is that a place a Governor should be proud of going to accept a Chieftaincy Title?

It’s even ridiculous that the Title is referred to as the ” Aare Asoludero”!

” Asoludero”, in English simply means the architect or purveyor of prosperity.

So, from the catastrophic experience of the people of Eruwa in the past seven years plus, where is the prosperity?

Is it on the 48klm Ido-Eruwa Road which the Governor could not finish within seven years plus or the disaster the Governor had turned the Eruwa Farm Settlement to?

Will it be the unfortunate record he set by installing someone who the Supreme Court said could not participate in the selection process for the Eleruwa of Eruwa, after the Court agreed that it was the turn of the Olaribikusi Ruling House to nominate the next Eleruwa and after the Court named the three Princes from the said Ruling House as those to be considered for selection?

I want to see if Governor Seyi Makinde would be shameless enough to go to Eruwa before completing the 48klm Ido-Eruwa Road.

If he does, then, there would be no argument. He is a shameless Man.

Sola Abegunde.
