2027 is going to be a year of political nemesis in Oyo state. A couple of minutes ago, I watched a clip of Governor Seyi Makinde’s Senior Special Assistant on Communication, Dayo Ogunbowale.
He appeared on a popular Radio station in Ibadan this morning. In fact, the fellow is everything but an effective communicator.
No wonder we heard that one of the policies of the Makinde Administration is the embargo placed on Radio and Television appearances.
It is alleged that you could not go on Radio or Television except you are cleared to so do and even after you have been cleared, you will be teleguided on what you can or can not say.
The man was so carried away, trying to convince the audience that Adekanmbi enjoyed the support of both Allied People’s Movement, APM and some All Progressives Congress, APC members and stakeholders and in the process, he committed a very terrible blunder.

He implied that a lot of members of the APC, an unnamed appointee of the president and of course, Senator Teslim Folarin and former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu will support Bimbo Adekanmbi against the APC Gubernatorial candidate, Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli.
I do not and will not hold brief for both of Senator Teslim Folarin and Chief Adebayo Adelabu. If necessary, both of them would respond to his rantings.
However, I am surprised that the funny fellow felt that such reckless and unfounded allegations are fit for his petty politicking.
Senator Teslim Folarin is presently the Oyo State Coordinator for the Renewed Hope Agenda. A very important organ of the APC Campaign architecture.
Let us even assume that what the funny fellow was saying does have any iota of truth, is that a matter to be discussed recklessly like he did?
He referenced a program which took place yesterday at the Liberty Stadium and was of the opinion that once Senator Folarin and Chief Adelabu were absent, then, it means they will not work for Sharafadeen Alli’s gubernatorial ambition.
He overlooked the Stadium which was fully packed. He overlooked the powerful statement made by the Okanlomo Odua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadan Land, Chief Dotun Sanusi and relied on the absence of two individuals, regardless of the reasons for their absence, to conclude that there is a storm within the APC.
He overlooked the statement made by Chief Adelabu when he returned from abroad, where he reiterated his commitment to the APC and the subsequent meeting he had with the National Chairman of the APC.
The APM members are hallucinating about a lot of things. They will leave the logs in their eyes and go about, pointing to the crumbs of stick in the eyes of others.
The program anchor tried to call his attention to the number of prominent politicians who have left their ranks, but he played it down.
Your own house keeps burning, but you’re relying on those who have one or two reasons to be angry in their house, to remove the roofing sheets from their home to cover your empty roof. The gentleman did something that I like so much.
He exposed the APM as a party who would not keep your secrets if you are disloyal to your political party and I’m sure that every potential betrayals from different political parties would be cautious in dealing with them moving forward.
He made fun of the status of the gubernatorial candidate of the APC. I don’t know what else he is expecting. As we speak, there is a matter pending before the Supreme Court between factions of the APM.
It has to do with Leadership disputes and it is capable of throwing everything they have been building in the dustbin. Yet, he had the mouth to talk about the status of Senator Sarafadeen Alli as the gubernatorial candidate of the APC!
Having said that. I think it is important to remind the APM about the fact that 2027 is the perfect time for Governor Seyi Makinde to harvest the rewards for his betrayals.
It is the perfect time the Governor of Oyo state will realize that when you contribute money to buy a dog, you don’t name the dog ” mine”.
It is the perfect time the governor would be reminded of the tortoise who wanted to go visit his in-laws and went to borrow the costumes he wore to the occasion.
When the tortoise forgot himself and started insulting those who borrowed him the costumes, the owners began to take back their pieces of clothes one after the other and in the end, the ungrateful tortoise was stripped naked.
By 2027, Hosea Agboola will speak. Olaniyan will prove a point. Arapaja will show his strength. Dotun Sanusi will roar and many others, too numerous to mention, will teach the Governor a bitter lesson.
They will let him know why you must not clean your anus with the stinging nettle plant, ( ewe esinsin), after defecating.
