The Liberty Stadium, Ibadan was filled to its maximum capacity on Monday as members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and citizens from across Oyo State’s 33 Local Government Areas gathered for the inauguration of the Tinubu Torch Bearers, TTB, Oyo State Chapter.

The event drew significant attention despite the unavoidable absence of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

She was ably represented by the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development.

Party leaders described the turnout as a clear demonstration of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and for Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, BSA.

Speakers at the event said the crowd “came out en masse, beyond expectations” to show solidarity with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President and to mobilize for 2027.

According to APC stakeholders, the gathering was also a show of readiness to work for a change of government in Agodi Government House in the next election.

Representing the First Lady, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development commended women and youths in Oyo for their commitment and urged them to continue to support policies aimed at women empowermentsocial welfare, and national development.

Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, BSA, who was present at the event also appreciated the people of Oyo for their support.

He called for unity within the party and urged members to take the message of Renewed Hope to every ward and community.

Party chieftains at the event criticized the current administration in Oyo State, alleging maladministration and accusing it of failing to meet the expectations of citizens.

They also referenced Mr. Bimbo Adekanbi and the APM – Allied Peoples Movement in their remarks, saying the people are ready for an alternative.

With the inauguration of the Tinubu Torch Bearers in Oyo, APC leaders say mobilization has officially begun across the 33 LGAs.

The group is expected to drive grassroots engagement, voter education, and support for APC candidates ahead of 2027.

The large turnout at Liberty Stadium is already being described by party members as a sign that Oyo APC is reorganizing and preparing to contest strongly in the next general elections.
