Hon. Fakayode Afolabi Kasali has emerged the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) direct primary election for the Kajola State Constituency House of Assembly seat after polling the highest number of votes in the exercise conducted across the 11 wards in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State.

According to the official collation sheet sighted by FRESHPAGE from the local government summary of ward results, Kasali secured a total of 2,622 votes to defeat other aspirants in the keenly contested primaries.

Hon. Azeez Musibau, current member of the Oyo State House of Assembly came second with 1,613 votes, while Hon. Tairu Muibi polled 258 votes. Dr. Gbolasere E. Abigail recorded 83 votes.
Other aspirants, including Dr. Dayo Olarewaju, Hon. Simeon Adejumo and Hon. Tijani Sakiru, scored no votes in the primary.

The total valid votes recorded in the election stood at 4,576 from the 11 wards in Kajola Local Government Area.
Declaring the result, the Returning Officer for Kajola Local Government, Engr. Gbadamosi Adeoye, officially announced Hon. Fakayode Kasali as the winner of the primary election, having secured the highest number of votes cast.

The final declaration was witnessed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) representative, Owonikoko Semiu, as well as the designated security officer, Onidele Iseyin.
Kasali’s victory now positions him as the APC’s House of Assembly candidate for Kajola State Constituency ahead of the 2027 general election.
