The All Progressives Congress (APC) screening committee has disqualified seven aspirants, including former National Secretary Senator Iyiola Omisore, from participating in the Osun State governorship primary scheduled for December 13, 2025.

The disqualified aspirants failed to meet the party’s mandatory nomination requirement, specifically the need for sponsorship by five fully registered and financially up-to-date party members from each Local Government Area in Osun State, as stipulated in Articles 9.3(i) and 31.2(ii) of the APC Constitution and Paragraph 6(c) of the party’s guidelines.
The seven disqualified aspirants are:
– Senator Iyiola Omisore
– Babatunde Haketer Oralusi
– Oyedotun Babayemi
– Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi
– Benedict Alabi
– Adegoke Rasheed Okiki
– Senator Babajide Omoworare
Only two aspirants, Mulikat Abiola Jimoh and Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, were cleared to participate in the primary.

The screening committee, chaired by Chief Obinna Uzoh, emphasized the need for party unity and reconciliation, citing internal divisions within the APC in Osun State.
