The shortage of water supply to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan may soon be a thing of the past.
Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde and management of the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan on Tuesday met to discuss possible collaboration to end shortage of water to the Teaching Hospital.
The UCH team was led by its Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo after it had earlier inspected the Dandaru Dam to asses the low water supply to the Hospital.
The CMD briefed Governor Makinde that the UCH management visited the Dam, the Oyo State Governor promptly called for a meeting between the State and the UCH at the Dam.
It was discovered that the poor water supply to UCH was due to the collapse of the UCH water dam disembankment and the Governor promised to rebuild it immediately.

The Governor sympathised with UCH on the low flow of water and immediately promised to take an urgent step towards alleviating the hardship being faced by the Hospital.
Engr. Makinde noted that UCH is strategic to effective healthcare delivery not only in Ibadan, but the entire Oyo State and Nigeria in general, saying, “we cannot afford to see UCH suffer water supply.
Water is key to your operations and we would do everything possible to sort the problem out. UCH is strategic to our healthcare system”.
The CMD, Professor Otegbayo appreciated the prompt response of the Governor, which he described as encouraging and assured the Governor of the Hospital’s readiness to provide effective healthcare delivery to all citizens of Oyo State and Nigeria.
