The Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation (OOF) and Luli Construction Company, under the leadership of its Chairman and Executive Director, Ambassador Engr. Dr. David Olusegun Okanlawon, has extended heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, on his official approval as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Ambassador Okanlawon’s congratulatory message comes in the wake of the passing of the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin, and Governor Seyi Makinde’s recent endorsement of Oba-designate Ladoja’s nomination.

 

In a statement  made available to FRESHPAGE correspondent, Ambassador Okanlawon praised the former Governor, describing his ascension to the revered throne as a testament to Ibadanland’s unique and time-honored chieftaincy system. “The succession system in Ibadanland reflects its rich history and enduring traditions. We rejoice with His Excellency, Oba Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, on this monumental occasion. His journey through the chieftaincy ranks, culminating in this well-deserved elevation, is a source of pride for all indigenes of Ibadan and Oyo State,” Okanlawon stated.

Ambassador Okanlawon further highlighted Oba Ladoja’s distinguished record of public service, noting that his experience as a former Governor and his deep understanding of traditional institutions uniquely position him to lead Ibadanland into an era of continued peace and development.

“Oba Ladoja’s vast experience positions him perfectly to guide Ibadanland towards greater peace, development, and prosperity,” Okanlawon added.

“The Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation and Luli Construction Company pledge their full support and cooperation to the incoming Olubadan and the Olubadan-in-Council, confident that his reign will usher in even greater glory for our beloved city.”

The coronation ceremony is scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025, a date of special significance as it falls just one day after Oba Ladoja’s 81st birthday. The announcement was made during Governor Makinde’s visit to the Oba-designate, where he also appointed Chief Bayo Oyero, former Chairman of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, to lead the coronation committee.
