No fewer than 14 individuals were arrested by the operatives of the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps for open defecation and crossing of highway without using pedestrian bridges which violates environmental laws of the State.
The offenders were arrested in Berger area of Lagos and taken to the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources facility for appropriate sanction.
The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed the arrest in a post on X.com on Thursday.

According to Wahab; ”The operation is part of the state government’s efforts to maintain a clean and orderly environment in line with its “Zero Tolerance” policy.
Wahab wrote, “Fourteen individuals were arrested at Berger last night for open defecation, open urination, and not using the pedestrian bridge.”
