The immediate past senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi on Thursday attended inauguration of Lagos-Ibadan Rail Line, the epoch making event held at Mobolaji Johnson Railway Station, Ebute Metta, Lagos State.
The flag-off ceremony was performed by President Muhammadu Buhari. The president while speaking at the inauguration of the project commended the good people of Oyo and Ogun for the cooperation and friendly support to ensure the project came into limelight.
The Okanlomo of Ibadanland who was part of the project from the beginning as member of 8th National Assembly said he felt elated that he witnessed the completion of the project which benefit entire Nigerians especially those from the South West.
Senator Akanbi commended the federal government and the Hon. Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Chibuike Amaech for his unrelenting effort to ensure the completion of the project with top notch facilities.
Senator Akanbi said he was joyous that approval has been given for Ibadan-Kano rail project describing it as a welcome development that will boost the economy of Ibadan and Oyo State as a whole.
