Screening of all occupants of National Stadium will today commence to weed out illegal occupants and structures inside the stadium.

The Task Force which was set up by Hon. Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare will commence verification and identification of illegal structures inside the National Stadium, Lagos.

A statement from the office of the Minister indicated that the Task Force will be headed by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Gabriel Aduda.

The Task Force was set up to restore sanity to the long-abandoned complex ahead of its plan concession, the statement added.

Sunday Dare while inaugurating the Task Force said;”The National Stadium, Lagos holds a lot of fond memories for our sportsmen and other people. We shall no longer allow our infrastructures to lies waste”.

”All our national stadiums shall be put to best use. Abuja and Kaduna are at advanced stages. Lagos has approval for concession. Before the process is complete, we need to restore sanity to the place”.

The Committee’s task is to carry out an audit of approved tenants, verify details of tenancy agreement, come up with a list of approved and unapproved physical structures, as well as a list of squatters and businesses.

The committee is further saddled to investigate staff of the ministry. the whole task of the committee is to completed within 21 days.
