A former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Oyo State, Mutalubi Ojo Adebayo, SAN, as revealed his favourite choice among Oyo Governorship Candidates and why he is supporting Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and not Bimbo Adekanmbi, the anointed candidate of the Governor Seyi Makinde under the platform of the Allied People’s Movement, APM, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ojo made this known in a statement issued on Monday, September 28, 2026 while responding to the questions pushed to him by a top and prominent politician in Oyo State who felt Asiwaju Ita Ege should support Bimbo Adekanmbi as a fellow loyalist from SENACO, under the administration of late Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
The former Attorney-General of Oyo State, while affirming his convictions with the choice of Alli over Adekanmbi said, Mr. Bimbo Adekanmbi of APM was never a member of SENACO. He said Adekanmbi was not with them when SENACO was formed 2005.
He clarified that Bimbo was during all those years in United Kingdom and the entire SENACO knew nothing about him until Senator Abiola Ajimobi’s daughter brought him and introduced him to late Senator Ajimobi in 2011.

Ojo emphasised Adekanmbi came into light after the Ajimobi had won keenly contested gubernatorial election in 2011, before the cabinet was formed.
“Most importantly, any human being who disrespected or abused or insulted and or betrayed my Principal, Benefactor and Confidant, Senator Abiola Ajimobi of blessed memory and or his family , while he was alive or when he had passed on, such person can NEVER have my blessing or my support. In actual fact , such a fellow or character is my avowed enemy.
“Mr. Bimbo Adekanmbi of APM did not only abuse , insult , ridicule and humiliate Senator Abiola Ajimobi , but he also rubbished Oga’s memory and betray Senator Abiola Ajimobi and the family of Senator Abiola Ajimobi all for no good cause , but because of his failed Senatorial ticket ambition in 2023.
“In Yorubaland, one of the known Omoluabi ethos is that – One does not bite a finger that fed him or her . Mr. Bimbo Adekanmbi of APM threw caution to the winds and poked his fingers into the eyes of his Benefactor when he went to the media to betray and sacrifice his Benefactor and Mentor just because of ephemeral political gains and for mere selfish reasons.
“Such a fellow and character cannot earn my support, sympathy and vote.
