Oriire Abduction: Tinubu’s Aide, Moremi Ojudu Reassures FG’s Commitment to Secure Release of Kidnapped Students, Teachers 

The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Community Engagement (South West), Moremi Ojudu, has visited families of teachers and pupils abducted by bandits in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, assuring them of support and solidarity during the difficult period.

Ojudu, who met with affected families in Ogbomoso, said her visit was aimed at identifying with them and reassuring them that they had not been forgotten amid the continued captivity of the abducted pupils and their teachers in the hands of the bandits.

Speaking during the visit, she said she came not only as a representative of government but also as “a compassionate sister and daughter of the Southwest, sharing in the grief of families whose hearts have been weighed down by tragedy.”

According to her, leadership is best demonstrated through empathy and a willingness to stand with people during challenging times.

“In moments like these, leadership is not defined by offices or titles, but by the willingness to sit with the hurting, listen to their cries, and remind them that their pain matters,” Ojudu said.

She acknowledged the emotional trauma being experienced by the affected families, noting that while no visit could erase their pain, genuine compassion and support could help restore hope.

Ojudu further stressed the need for public office holders to remain connected to the people, particularly in times of distress, adding that governance should be rooted in humanity and service.

She also called for continued prayers for the safe return of the abducted victims and comfort for their families.

“As we continue to pray for the safe return of every child and for comfort for every affected family, may we also be reminded that a nation grows stronger when its leaders are close enough to hear the cries of its people and compassionate enough to respond,” she added.

The visit can said to be a demonstration of solidarity with the affected families and a reaffirmation of the importance of compassion and responsive leadership in times of crisis.
