If Governor Seyi Makinde thinks I will give him respite on his decision to privatize the reports submitted to him by the Commission of Inquiry into the abduction of Teachers and Pupils of Ahoro-Esinele and Yawota communities of Oriire Local Government, he is deceiving himself.

I am interested in that report because I submitted a Memorandum to the Commission and I appeared before the Commission to defend my Memorandum as requested.

Apart from that, whatever was done by the Commission, was done on behalf of the good people of Oyo state, not on behalf of Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo state.

The resources approved and expended by Government, as logistics for the sitting of the Commission are public resources.

From the moment Governor Makinde administered the oath on the Chairman and members of the Commission, their activities became public concerns.

It is about a month now since the Commission submitted its reports to the Governor.

Curiously, nothing has been heard about the reports since then.

Is it that Governor Seyi Makinde just set up the Commission for a particular purpose which is unknown to the public?

Is the whole sitting of the Commission, just a pre-arranged Drama or what?

Why is it that the reports of the Commission has remained a mystery till today?

Or, could it be that the Governor kept the reports in his pocket and while jumping about in Akure, they got lost?

There are a lot of issues concerning the management of the situation around the days the abducted victims were still in captivity.

There are also a lot of concerns around the utterances of the Governor and the Speaker of the Oyo state House of Assembly during the same period.

There are very serious concerns about the reported Mining activities within the Forest around the Local Government.

These issues and many more, were placed before the Commission by me.

I have a right, as a citizen of Oyo state and Nigeria, to know, what happened to the Memorandum I submitted.

It is a duty, incumbent on Governor Seyi Makinde, to make the reports public.

After all, he was talking tough and publicly so, when the victims were abducted.

He was acting like someone who knew a lot of things that we, the ordinary citizens didn’t know about the abduction and the rescue operation for the victims.

Why then, has the Governor, uncharacteristically gone silent on this issue, even, after the reports of the Commission, which one might have expected to buttress Governor Makinde’s position were submitted to him?

I thought Governor Makinde would just submit the report to the United Nations and make it a stronger foundation for his call for an independent investigation into the abduction?

Or, could it be that, while jumping about, he has forgotten to fire the missile? If he has, I am reminding him.

Those boastful and big talks against the Federal Government shouldn’t go for nothing, otherwise, some of us will continue to drag him all about.

Where is the report?

Sola Abegunde.
