…charges cabinet on improved service delivery
Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Monday swore in Dr Debo Ladipo as a member of the State Executive Council while announcing the redeployment of Professor Solihu Adelabu to another ministry as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan, also witnessed the reassignment of Prof. Adelabu from the Ministry of Establishment and Training to the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives.

Dr Ladipo will serve as the Commissioner for Establishment and Training.
Speaking shortly after administering the oath of office, Governor Makinde said appointments and redeployments in government should not be interpreted as a reflection of an official’s competence or performance.
He explained that changes in portfolios are a normal feature of governance, driven by the administration’s priorities and the need to deploy individuals to areas where their expertise would have the greatest impact.
The governor said the reshuffle was aimed at strengthening his administration’s capacity to deliver on its promises to the people of Oyo State.
Makinde charged the newly inaugurated commissioner and other members of the State Executive Council to remain focused, committed, and dedicated to effective service delivery.
According to him, despite the achievements already recorded by his administration, there is still significant work to be done before the expiration of its tenure.
He urged cabinet members to redouble their efforts in implementing government policies and programmes that would improve the welfare of residents and accelerate the state’s development.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to good governance, accountability, and people-oriented policies, expressing confidence that the new appointment and redeployment would further enhance the performance of the State Executive Council.
