University of Ibadan and nine other higher institutions had at least 20 entries at the recently conducted Essay Competition in commemoration of Nigeria’s 60th independence day.

The 60th Independence Day Essay Competition organized by the government of the state of osun received 756 entries from students across 39 tertiary institutions across the country.

The students cut across both private and public higher institutions.

It would be recalled that that the contest was opened for two weeks submission ended on Friday, 25th September 2020.

The initiative received submissions from 268 females, 414 males and 74 other entries without any traceable information.

The topic for discussion was centred around the challenges and prospects of COVID-19 on the Nigerian Economy, it was Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s administration unique way of rejuvenating the fallen art and skills in reading and writing culture which has evaded the education community.
