Three students of the prestigious University of Ibadan would raise the country’s flag in Huawei ICT competition in China.
This came following the impressive performance of the students by winning the national final and secured a chance to represent Nigeria in the regional final held in South Africa.
Freshpage.com.ng gathered that the outstanding performance of the students in the competition at Southern Africa regional final by securing a second position earned them opportunity to be among the teams that will participate in the final of the ICT competition schedule to hold in China later this year.
The three students are; Badiru Toheeb Adeniyi, Abideen Bolaji Olaide and Olubiyi Sulaiman Damilare. They are all 500-level students of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
No doubt, the outstanding performance of the students at the competition in Nigeria and regional level further confirmed the recent global ranking of Universities which ranked University of Ibadan first in Nigeria, West Africa and featured among 500 best in the world.
It would also be recalled that the a first class graduate of Law from the University, Olalere Yusuf Asamu won 12 awards, while students of the University won 28 laurels out of 38 awards at the Call to Bar ceremony for 2020 held in Abuja.
