Heavy rainfall that started Tuesday evening around 4:30pm has wreaked havoc in some parts of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital and rendered many homeless while properties worth millions destroyed.
The torrential rain which turned into flash flooding, destroyed community fences, public and private properties and left many residents in danger.
The affected areas were Iwo-road, Olodo, Oremeji, Idi-Osan, Akeyo, Alakia, Moniya, Onipepeye, amongst others.

Members of the public who came to the aid of others trapped in their houses as a result of the downpour, called on the Oyo state government to immediately intervene before the matter goes out of hands.
The Deputy Director, Oyo State Fire Service, Mr. Moshood Adewuyi, who confirmed the flash flooding stated that some houses were submerged but no casualty was recorded.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State Emergency Management Agency, OYSEMA, has said it has swung into action and it will issue a statement on its findings soonest after which possible solutions will follow suit.
More than 15 vehicles were trapped in flood at Old-Ife-Road, Ibadan.
