A solemn prayer session was convened in Eruwa by the Eleruwa of Eruwaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Adebayo Adegbola Ajobo Olurin I, in response to the recent wave of kidnappings in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The spiritual gathering, held at the First Baptist Church, Eruwa, brought together clerics and worshippers from across the community under the coordination of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Eruwa chapter. The event drew widespread participation, reflecting a unified front in addressing the security challenges affecting the area.
Central to the gathering was a series of fervent prayers offered for the safe and immediate release of the kidnapped victims. Clergymen led congregants in intense intercession, seeking divine intervention while also praying for the families of those in captivity, asking for strength and comfort in the face of uncertainty.
Addressing the congregation, the monarch expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation and called for sustained unity, faith, and collective responsibility in confronting the crisis. He emphasized the need for continuous prayers alongside lawful efforts to restore peace and security.
Special prayers were also offered for the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with participants seeking divine wisdom, guidance, and strength for both leaders in tackling insecurity and safeguarding lives and property.
The event witnessed the presence of the Olori, members of the Eleruwa-in-Council, traditional chiefs, the Eruwa Elders’ Council, religious leaders, and a large number of residents, all united in purpose.

The session concluded on a note of renewed hope, with participants reaffirming their commitment to sustained prayers and support for all legitimate measures aimed at ensuring the safe return of the victims and the restoration of peace in the affected communities.
