The Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District and Chairman of the Southwest Development Senate Committee, Senator Yunus Abiodun Akintunde, has felicitated with Muslims on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, urging Nigerians to remain hopeful and united despite the nation’s current economic, security, and social challenges.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Senator Akintunde described the season as a sacred period of reflection, sacrifice, humility, compassion, and sincere devotion to Almighty Allah.
According to the lawmaker, Eid al-Adha and the Day of Arafat offer an opportunity for both citizens and leaders to reflect on their collective responsibilities towards justice, peace, national development, and good governance.

He prayed that Almighty Allah would accept the prayers, sacrifices, and acts of worship of the Muslim faithful, while also granting wisdom, guidance, and strength to leaders at all levels of governance.
Senator Akintunde further stressed the need for unity, patriotism, and sustained support for sincere efforts aimed at improving the nation’s economy, strengthening security, and ensuring stability across the country.
“Despite the economic, security, and social challenges confronting our country, we must continue to uphold hope, unity, and faith in Nigeria. With responsible leadership, national cooperation, and the grace of God, our nation shall overcome its present difficulties and emerge stronger,” he stated.
The senator also wished Muslims across Nigeria and beyond a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Eid al-Adha celebration.
