The authority of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education (EAUED), Oyo has reacted to the viral video credited to Islamic cleric inciting Oyo town indigenes against the composition of University Management Team that Oyo town indigenes were sidelined and not given priority in the appointment made so far in the University.

The University authority through a press statement released by its Media and Public Relations Officer, ‘Wale Adeoye described the viral video as the one that lack truth, malicious and misleading the public.

The University cautioned the Islamic cleric to always seek truth information before addressing congregation stressing that appointments were made according to University Law to position the University towards achieving the its vision and mission.

”The university has seen video content that is being circulated about Emmanuel Alayande University Education, Oyo.

”It is important to note that the video contains false information and deliberate misrepresentation of facts concerning Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo. It does NOT represent the truth about the university.

”The fact is that the current composition of management is as follows
1. VC: Ibarapa East ( Christian)
2. DVC: Ibadan North (Muslim)
3. Registrar: Afijio (Christian)
4. Bursar: Egbeda (Christian)
5. Librarian: Ogbomoso North (Christian)
6. Director of Works: Oyo East (Muslim)

”It should be noted that university appointments were made entirely according to the University Law based purely on merit (as reflected in the performances of candidates during properly and legally constituted interview panels). The appointments were made in order to position Emmanuel Alayande University of Education as a true Centre of excellence while considering the peculiarities and representativeness of Oyo state. This undoubtedly is in line with the vision of His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE.

”While the university remains focused and would continue to operate in line with relevant laws, it is important to note that spreading malicious information aimed at misleading the public is not one of the core values of Oyo state”.
