The Emeritus Professor Ayoade Ogunkunle-led-Governing Council yesterday recorded another milestone, as it formally relocated the University Health Centre to the newly constructed Health Centre built by the Oyo State Government.

Speaking at the relocation ceremony, the Pro-Chancellor & Chairman of Council, Emeritus Professor Ayoade Olayiwola Ogunkunle expressed the Council and university administration’s appreciation to His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde for his show of concern to staff and students of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo since he approved the upgrade of the erstwhile College of Education to a university status.
According to him, “this is a clear show of concern on the health of staff, students and members of the university community. We do not take this for granted at all. While waiting for the official commissioning of the project, we thank our Visitor and amiable Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE for approving this edifice for our institution. We thank our host Local Government, Atiba Local Government under the Chairmanship of Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji (WABKEM) for the support. Our Council shall ensure a good use of this University Health Centre by the grace of God”, he submitted.
Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan in his welcome address thanked the University Governing Council for the unflinching support his administration is enjoying in the area of policies and laws. “It is on record that this 1st Council had made history as an achiever. The approval and construction of this new Health Centre by the Oyo State Government underscores the achievement of this great and hard-working Council. My team, staff and students are all grateful. I assure you that we shall put this facility into optimal use and maintain it as appropriate. I join our Pro-Chancellor & Chairman of Council, Council Members, University Administration, Staff and Students in thanking Governor Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE for giving approval for the construction of the new University Health Facility. As Oliver Twist, we look forward to getting more support from His Excellency”, concluded the University helmsman.
At the event were members of the Council, University Administration, Acting Director, University Health Services, Dr. Idowu Bolaji, Staff of the Health Centre and members of the University Community.
