The Archbishop of Ibadan Ecclesiastical Province ,His Grace,the most Reverend (Dr) Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe has condemned in strong terms the recent abduction of teachers and pupils in some schools at Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State as well two staff members of CRIN in Ibadan.

The statement was contained in the press release issued and signed by the Ibadan North Anglican Diocesan Communicator, Chief Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga on Wednesday.
Describing the act as barbaric and uncivilized, the Archbishop also condemned the gruesome, wicked , ungodly and inhuman way one of the abducted teachers was killed.
In his words,” we join millions of the well meaning and patriotic citizens of Oyo State and Nigeria as a nation to strongly condemn this barbaric and despicable act”, the Archbishop further stressed
Referring to his statement in the presidential charge delivered during the just concluded 2026 Synod at the Cathedral of St Peter, Aremo, Archbishop Aladekugbe called on Oyo State Government to properly profile the foreigners in Oyo State and any one suspected to be of questionable character be returned to their states of origin or be prosecuted according to the law of the land.
The Clergy sympatises with the parents of the pupils and families of the teachers abducted most especially the mathematics teacher that was gruesomely murdered adding that they should have faith in God that their abducted ones will soon join them alive.
The heart felt sympathy of the Archbishop also goes to the government of Oyo State,Oriire Local Government and the entire people of the state for the traumatic situation we find ourselves presently
He specifically appreciated the impactful and people oriented government of Engineer Seyi Makinde and his efforts in securing Oyo State, adding that governments at all levels should join hands together to invest in security and ensuring the safe return of the abducted victims
