I am not surprised that Governor Seyi Makinde chose the yeyenatu gathering in Eruwa to advertise his arrogance, desperation and shamelessness.
I have been waiting for the speech he would deliver on the occasion and when I finally got them, I wasn’t surprised.
I expected nothing better from someone who has lost the ability to identify a shameful situation.
I deliberately withheld certain facts about the Chieftaincy Title which Samuel Adebayo Adegbola offered Governor Makinde and his wife.
Apart from the fact that Samuel Adebayo Adegbola lacks the locus to offer a Chieftaincy Title to anyone, it will be interesting to note that the same individual, Samuel Adebayo Adegbola, actually installed the late former Governor Adebayo Alao Akala as the Aare Asoludero of Ibarapa Land and his wife, Chief Mrs Oluwakemi Alao Akala as the Yeye Aare Asoludero of Ibarapa Land.
Can you imagine that? Chief Mrs. Oluwakemi Alao Akala is still very much alive. Hale and hearty.
I noticed that the wife of the Governor is conspicuously absent from the shameful gathering.
Perhaps, she got someone who advised her against taking such a controversial Title or, perhaps her absence is due to some “domestic reasons”.
There is no need for me to flog the issue of Governor Makinde’s failed promises regarding the 48klm Ido-Eruwa Road except to ask if the Governor enjoyed the beautiful trip to Eruwa on the dusty and bumpy road.
My father once told me an interesting story.
He said there was a time everybody was arguing about whose wife had the worst habit and the tortoise insisted that his wife had the worst habit.
To resolve the argument, it was resolved that everyone should describe the habits of their wives and some said their wives were thieves, others said their wives were lying but the tortoise insisted that his wife was worse than everyone else’s.
They now asked the tortoise to tell them exactly, what could be her wife’s habit that would make her worse than everyone else’s.
The tortoise simply said that his wife was a shameless woman.
He told them that if someone is shameless, such a person is capable of combining all the bad habits in the world.
I said I waited for whatever Governor Seyi Makinde would have to say at the shameful gathering.
Let’s talk about it.
I couldn’t help but to laugh when I head the Governor threatening some unnamed Obas.
He said he and his political party would abuse and disrespect any Oba who is involved in politics.
The same man who made this reckless statement had earlier campaigned for his anointed gubernatorial candidate, Bimbo Adekanmbi in front of some Obas who were present at the occasion.
In 2023, a very prominent First class Oba was everywhere, on the Radio, campaigning for his second term election.
Was it proper for an Oba to campaign for the Governor in 2023 ?
Why is Governor Seyi Makinde this desperate?
I looked at the Governor with pity when he started talking about the viral video of Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, the Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC and the young Journalist he lapped during an interview.
When I looked at him, I remembered the lyrics of a song by a popular female Islamic musician. I have forgotten her name but I clearly remember the lyrics. ( ” Eyin tisoro po lara yin le fe maa yo wa.. Falana dakun gbo tara re tara eni la maa gbo”).
I hope Governor Seyi Makinde would not pass his boundaries on this issue of Senator Sharafadeen Alli.
We, on this side also possess so much in our arsenal to hurt the other side. That we have chosen to be civil does not say that if you come at us with stupidity, we won’t respond in kind.
Governor Seyi Makinde and his followers could continue to disrespect our Obas.
His days as Governor of the state are numbered.
I can see that he is hurting seriously about something. About someone and unfortunately for him, he could only keep dancing around the subject of his pain, he would dare not be open about them.
Oh! It hurts!!
I think we need to ask Adegbola to add another Chieftaincy Title for our Dear Governor and I suggest the Title of ” the Arobafin of Eruwa Land”.
At this point, I remember another interesting story my father used to tell me.
It is about the pouch rat ( Okete) and Ifa. Both of them were friends.
Okete loved to eat palm kernels but he was lazy. He didn’t plant palm trees.
On the other hand, Ifa was very hard working and he had a large farm filled with palm trees.
Okete was stealing palm kernels from the farm of his friend and unfortunately for him, one day, Ifa went to his farm with his three dogs, named ” Aisee” ( it is forbidden), ” Ohun eewo”, ( it’s a taboo), and ” Biibaabini, ( nemesis).
When the dogs sighted Okete, they started pursuing him and Ifa, seeing that his friend was at the mercy of the dogs, called his dogs back from pursuing him, singing, ” Aisee, Ohun eewo, Biibabini, e jue o).
Governor Seyi Makinde is a Yoruba man. He will understand the meaning of that story.
Let me round up by telling him a very popular statement we used to make in Eruwa. ( Ile Eruwa kii yo eeyan nigba ti ojo ba nro). The terrain of Eruwa is never slippery during the raining season. Surprisingly, it became slippery at unexpected times.
His political ascendancy started from Eruwa. I won’t say more than that.
