Following intensive political consultations ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries, a major breakthrough has been achieved with the emergence of consensus candidates for both the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly seats in the Ibarapa Central/North constituency.

According to reliable party sources, Engr. David Olusegun Okanlawon has emerged as the consensus candidate to represent the APC in the House of Representatives for the Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency.
Okanlawon, regarded as a committed progressive, is widely known for his professional expertise, philanthropy, and active community development efforts across the zone. His emergence is seen as a strategic move by the party to present a united front with strong political backing ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A reliable source within the party alleged that strong pressure from the Presidency influenced the decision, with party leaders believing that Engr. David Olusegun Okanlawon possesses the political strength and electoral advantage needed to secure victory for the APC in Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency among all the House of Representatives aspirants in the party.
The development reportedly generated mixed reactions within the party, as some aspirants felt sidelined and marginalized. Despite the controversy, Engr. David Olusegun Okanlawon remained confident in his capacity to lead the party to victory and determined to justify the confidence reposed in him.
As the primaries approached, tensions within the party continued to rise, resulting in intense political maneuvering. Eventually, Engr. David Olusegun Okanlawon secured the party’s ticket, further strengthening his position as a major force within the APC in the constituency.

In another move aimed at ensuring fair geopolitical representation, the party leadership officially zoned the State House of Assembly ticket to Ibarapa North Local Government Area.
Following the arrangement, Alhaji Tajudeen Salaudeen Amoo emerged as the consensus candidate for the State Assembly seat.
Amoo, a former Caretaker Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government, is widely recognized as an experienced grassroots politician and administrator with vast local government experience.
