Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibarapa North/Central Federal Constituency have called on the party’s leadership to concede its House of Representatives ticket to Engr. Olusegun Okanlawon ahead of the 2027 general elections.
They argued that fielding him would strengthen the APC’s position in the 2027 polls.

A statement by APC chieftain in the constituency, Oguntade Olugbenga and party member, Adeshina Ismail said Okanlawon’s grassroots connection, capacity, and acceptability make him the best candidate to improve the party’s chances in the constituency.

The duo described Okanlawon as a man of impact, legacy, and community development whose name commands respect across the political landscape of the federal constituency.

According to them, Okanlawon’s years of work in road projects, community interventions, youth empowerment, and humanitarian support have transformed lives and localities in Ibarapa land.

“At a time when the people desire vibrant, accessible, and result-oriented representation, Engr. Olusegun Okanlawon stands out as the right man for the job.”
The stakeholders added that Okanlawon represented aspirations of the youth and the collective desire for progressive, people-centered leadership.

They urged APC leadership to prioritize competence, loyalty, grassroots acceptance, and electability in selecting the party’s candidate.
“His contributions have planted seeds of hope and strengthened confidence in purposeful representation across the constituency.”
The stakeholders, who said that people of Ibarapa North/Central have already made their position clear and people have spoken, and their voices deserve to be heard, appealed to the party to act in line with the wishes of the constituency.
