Many had thought, the late Sikiru Ayinde Agbajelola would have lived long after he survived a surgical operation he had prior his death but he answered the call.
The son of Subuola Odere Sifau at every point in time used his music to preach peace, connect old with new, link past with present. He is unarguably one of the brilliant brain the the sector has produced.
Late Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, son of Agbajelola started his career as a danfo conductor in Lagos. He painted the scenario in his various album how worked as danfo conductor from Mushin in Lagos en-route Idi-Oro down to Ojuelegba and finally Ajegunle.
He also worked as typist at the Nigerian Breweries. He was not comfortable with the job, he tried another thing and found himself in the Nigerian Army as a Clerk during the Civil War of 1967-1970.
The late fuji maestro also served 10th Brigade of the 2nd Division of the Nigerian Army before finally face music proper.
The late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister was a master for several musicians who are doing well in today’s music world. One of those he mentored and trained is King Wasiu Ayinde Kwam 1, the Mayegun of Yorubaland.
Late Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister had over 140 studio albums before he died. Notably among those that shot him to limelight was Fuji Garbage, Aiye and host of others.
His ability to convince people that he had no hands in Ayinla Omowura’s death have gave him credence in the music industry. He was a contemporary of Alhaji Ayinla Kollinghton Kebe n Kwara before he died.
