The 2027 general elections will be one of the easiest victories for an incumbent in Nigeria’s democratic history. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is not just going to win; he will win seamlessly. Why? Because he took the difficult decisions that others avoided and turned them into prosperity for the nation.
1. THE SUBSIDY CANCER HE CURED
For decades, fuel subsidy was a malignant cancer eating deep into our national resources. It was a cesspool of corruption where a few unpatriotic cabal became billionaires overnight while Nigeria bled to near bankruptcy.
The treasury was empty. The nation could not even afford to fund capital projects. It was subsidy, a fraud scheme by the corrupt few.
President Tinubu, with uncommon courage and statesmanship, removed this cancer on his first day in office. What others promised and failed to do for 16 years, he did with a single bold pronouncement.

The result is clear for all to see today:
Before removal, over 27 states were virtually bankrupt, borrowing money every month just to pay salaries. Today, after removal, no state borrows to pay salaries again. Federal allocation to states, local governments has tripled. Governors now have resources to pay salaries promptly, embark on massive road projects, and initiate people-oriented programs. He has freed resources that were previously in private pockets and returned it to the Federation Account for all Nigerians.
That is true economic liberation.
2. EDUCATION HAS NEVER HAD IT SO GOOD
For years, Nigerian students lived in perpetual fear of ASUU strikes. A 4-year course became 6 years. Parents wept. Students lost hope. No President could solve it.
President Tinubu promised during his campaign: “No more ASUU strike under my administration.” He has kept that promise. For over three years now, our universities have enjoyed uninterrupted academic calendar. Students now graduate on time. That is a promise kept.
Secondly, he has democratized education through the revolutionary Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). For the first time in our history, children of the poor, the indigent, the hopeless, can access interest-free loans to pay school fees PLUS monthly stipends for upkeep.
Visit institutions today, especially in the North where thousands had dropped out due to poverty, it is jubilation galore. Testimonies abound of students who had lost hope of ever entering tertiary institutions but are now in school courtesy of President Tinubu. He has given hope to the hopeless and brought the children of the poor back to the classroom.
This is a President who believes that lack of money should not stop any Nigerian child from getting quality education.
When you give states money to work, secure the future of our youths through stable education and loans, you have secured the future of Nigeria. That is why 2027 will be seamless.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has laid the foundation. Nigerians will reward him with a resounding second term to finish the good work he started.
