My attention was drawn to the vituperations of Isaac Brown on his program this morning. I am surprised that the coward could not even mention my name.
He referred to me as Sola “Abololude”. I am not surprised. Isaac is too close to the Seyi Makinde Media set up. If he begins to borrow from their style, no one should be surprised.
Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Seyi Makinde’s Special Adviser on Media once called me ” the Masquerade man”. I enjoy the free advertisement and I take them as compliments, while looking forward for more of it.
Having said that, I must say that Isaac Brown seems or, perhaps, is pretending not to understand the context within which I have problems with his style of journalism.
My problem with him is that he is always biased in favor of Governor Seyi Makinde and against the opposition to the Governor at every time and he himself knows but wouldn’t want anyone to talk about it. My problem with him is that he thinks the public doesn’t see through his hypocrisy.
He has ventured too much into the political arena in Oyo state for him to maintain neutrality and that is his bane. If you want to celebrate your birthday, must you, like a baby, carry a birthday cake to the Governor’s House and worst still, you returned with a gift of SUV?
What reasonable opposition would fold its arms and allow a purchased Radio personality to keep destroying it systematically?
Even on the program this morning, he was blowing hot and cold at the same time. You are saying Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves flowers for the dualization of the Ibadan -Ijebu-Ode Road project, yet, you kept amplifying the fact that as Governor, Asiwaju fought against the same situation playing out presently in Oyo state.
Now, let me ask, did Asiwaju fight the Federal Government over trivial matters like the one at hand? I have been asking all these while and no one has answered me, what injuries exactly, did Governor Seyi Makinde and the Government of Oyo state suffered by not being involved in the flag-off program?
Governor Seyi Makinde commissioned a Road project at Bodija a couple of days ago. Is Sharafadeen Alli not the senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District and is Bodija not in Ibadan North Local Government and part of Oyo South Senatorial District?
Did Governor Makinde and the Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government invite Senator Sharafadeen Alli to the event?
The Oyo state Government which is saying that they were not invited for the flag-off program had moved on, but, people like Isaac Brown would not. They have a job to do. They must ensure that we keep talking about trivial matters, while neglecting the importance of the project itself.
I have said it. We will not allow people like Isaac Brown to take charge of the Agenda setting for the 2027 general election, rather, since he has chosen to be part of the discussion, we will make him one and he could cry as much as he wants.
Yorubas are very wise. When your mouth consumes the forbidden fried plantain, you find it difficult to say the truth. ( Bi enu ba ti je dodo, kii le so ododo).
We all know what Isaac Brown stands for. No one expects him to accept who he is but that doesn’t take away the fact that he collected a SUV from Governor Seyi Makinde and we know what he has been doing before collecting the gift and what he has been doing after collecting the Greek gift.
He is free to keep doing what he is doing. However, this time around, the game will be different. What he did in 2023 is still fresh in our minds, but, he won’t succeed this time around.
