Naturally, I didn’t want to talk about the alarm of an alleged impeachment plot raised by some members of the Oyo state House of Assembly and Governor Seyi Makinde’s stranded followers.
In the first instance, as at the time I made some remarks about the whole incident, Debo Ogundoyin, the embattled Speaker of the Oyo state House of Assembly was yet to make a comment about the episode.
Secondly, the release made by Hon. Gbenga Oyekola was in itself defeatist.
The contents of the statement by Hon Gbenga Oyekola, the Chief Whip of the Oyo state House of Assembly was filled with contradictions, hearsay and on the face value, highly theatric.
In fact, I lost interest in the whole episode, when all manner of people, House of Assembly members, Local Government Chairmen, Councillors, Local Government Supervisors, SAs, and even Ward Chairmen started making stereotype statements, all of them saying the same thing – same messages from different messengers, but all of them making same error which I will talk about later.

In fact, I am surprised that Park Managers are yet to make their own statement about the alleged impeachment plot.
However, when I saw Debo Ogundoyin’s statement and I saw the same noticeable error, I began to develop some interest.
A couple of minutes ago, I watched Michael Ogunsina in an interview he granted to a Television station in Ibadan and the fellow compounded the matter.
Now, what did Debo Ogundoyin say?
According to different accounts, Debo Ogundoyin said he met with the Kabiyesi, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Senator Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja and a former First Lady of Oyo state, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs Florence, Ajimobi and the duo discussed the impeachment of Governor Seyi Makinde with him.
He also said that he was offered money plus the ticket to contest for the House of Representatives for Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, but he rejected the offers.
That sounds good and reasonable. Doesn’t it?
Now, listen to this, he said the meeting was also for him to seek royal blessings for his gubernatorial ambition!
I have a big problem with that aspect of Debo Ogundoyin’s story.
Chief Mrs Florence Ajimobi is a prominent and active member of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo state. Did Debo Ogundoyin also sought royal blessings from Mrs. Ajimobi?
A good number of gubernatorial aspirants under the Governor Seyi Makinde stranded political followers have been going all over the place on similar consultative tour, how many of them consulted Mrs. Ajimobi?
Secondly, assuming without conceding that Mrs. Ajimobi agreed to host Debo on a political consultation, doesn’t she have her own house, because I am not aware that the former First Lady is a member of the Olubadan in Council.
I am also curious that both the Olubadan of Ibadan Land and Chief Mrs Florence Ajimobi wouldn’t descend so low to be discussing a matter that is as sensitive as the impeachment of a Governor with Debo Ogundoyin during a consultative tour!
Or, Debo Ogundoyin is telling us that the Olubadan of Ibadan Land left his Palace in Ibadan and went to Mrs Florence Ajimobi’s residence to receive him when he visited on consultation?
When you weave a story like this, little details matter.
One of the sons of the Olubadan has said that he has evidence which points to the fact that Debo Ogundoyin begged him severally to help him secure the appointment to see the Olubadan.
I have not seen a rebuttal to that statement. If someone is eager to meet you with a view to enlisting you for an impeachment plot, he should be the one running after you, not the other way round.
Now, I said those who have been making series of statements from Governor Seyi Makinde’s side have been committing similar errors.
All of them have kept denying the fact that there is an impeachment plot against Governor Seyi Makinde!
In fact, Michael Ogunsina said the alleged impeachment allegation is a fabrication by the same APC!!
Can you believe that?
Let us look at what Michael Ogunsina said.
According to him, The Olubadan of Ibadan Land called Debo Ogundoyin to go and take the APC House of Representatives ticket for Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency.
Whereas, one of the sons of the Olubadan have come out to say that in the contrary, Debo Ogundoyin actually begged him to help secure an appointment for him to see the Olubadan.

This little contraction matters because Debo Ogundoyin has not denied this important fact and Michael Ogunsina is different and distinct from Debo Ogundoyin.
He also said that Chief Mrs Florence Ajimobi also called Debo Ogundoyin and asked him to go and impeach the Governor of Oyo state and that unspecified huge amounts of money, in eight figures, was offered to Debo Ogundoyin but Debo Ogundoyin being a fine gentleman refused the offers.
Also, the account from the man in the eye of the storm is completely different from what Ogunsina is trying to tell us.
Debo Ogundoyin, by his personal statement, merely lumped these events together.
Michael Ogunsina then faced the camera and said, ” good people of Oyo state, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi wants to impeach your Governor. The Olubadan of Ibadan Land wants to impeach your Governor”.
However, in the same vein, the confused fellow turned 360 degrees and claimed that the impeachment plot against Governor Seyi Makinde is just a noise, fabricated by the APC!
Even the gentleman who interviewed him looked confused. How could you be blowing hot and cold at the same time?
He asked him if he had evidence of the allegations he raised against the Olubadan of Ibadan Land and Chief Mrs Florence Ajimobi and the funny fellow said he did.
Yet, throughout the interview, the clown presented no material evidence to back up his spurious allegations.
I have known the young man, Michael Ogunsina for some time, he lies with ease.
Sometimes ago, I met him at a particular Radio station in Ibadan.
We were supposed to face each other for an interview session but I think he must have had a prior arrangement with the Radio anchor to appear after I leave.
Shortly before I finished my session, someone walked into the studio, dressed in a short knickers and T-shirt like a factory worker and it took me some time to recognize him.
It was Michael Ogunsina and I challenged him as to why he wouldn’t let us do the session together.
Immediately I left the studio and he started his session, he started spewing all manner of lies.
He claimed that I have no record in politics besides being a Councilor sometimes and that we have been together on Radio several times.
He told all manner of lies that day, taking advantage of a pre-arranged sequence that allowed him the opportunity to lie without me having the opportunity of a rebuttal.
It will interest you to note that I have never been a Councilor in my life and I only met the pathological liar only once on a Yoruba Radio program at Fresh FM, Ibadan.
In fact, I had to immediately release a statement to counter his many lies and I challenged him to provide proof that we had met on Radio more than once before that day.
He didn’t respond to that challenge. So, when someone like Michael Ogunsina is talking, you know who is talking. A pathological liar.
You needed to see how he was talking about events that supposedly happened in his absence.
You didn’t claim to be at the meeting between the Olubadan and Chief Mrs Florence Ajimobi, at best, you were giving a hearsay report and yet, you claimed to have evidence.
Presently, Michael Ogunsina is idle.
He used to be the spokesperson of the PDP before he was booted out, so one might understand his restlessness.
Now, if the impeachment story is a fabrication by the APC, according to Michael Ogunsina, is Gbenga Oyekola a member of the APC?
Gbenga Oyekola was the first person to release a statement about the alleged impeachment plot on Wednesday.
He didn’t mention the APC as being the originator of the story.
In fact, he castigated Debo Ogundoyin and raised series of allegations against him in his public statement.
Sadly, Michael Ogunsina said Debo is a fine gentleman who refused to take bribes to impeach Governor Seyi Makinde.
The followers of Governor Seyi Makinde love to lie but, even, when doing so, they are never coordinated and consistent.
Oyekola said there was an impeachment plot and immediately after that statement, everyone kept saying there was nothing like that.
Different messages coming from the same source.
I am also very curious that Gbenga Oyekola made a statement before Debo Ogundoyin.
I thought Debo Ogundoyin should have been the one to break the news.
Why did he wait until Oyekola broke the news?
Who told Oyekola the details of a meeting he never claimed to have attended?
Another details missing is the exact time the purported meeting took place.
These are little details but they’re very important.
Some of us are aware of the activities that took place before Oyekola came to town with the tales by moonlight on Wednesday.
We know that there was a meeting where Debo Ogundoyin was asked to address a Press Conference to say exactly what Gbenga Oyekola eventually came out to say on Wednesday.
We know that Oyekola’s statement was supposed to be delivered, first hand, by Debo Ogundoyin but the latter didn’t comply.
We know that Debo Ogundoyin went to meet Governor Seyi Makinde in Abuja, first flight on Wednesday.
Debo Ogundoyin’s statement, on Wednesday is an afterthought.
The purported impeachment plot was a poorly scripted Drama, turned Comedy and it was produced by the Government of Oyo state.
It is too late for Michael Ogunsina and others to transfer the failed project to the APC.
The question will now be, why would some shameless people decide to disturb the peace of the rest of us unnecessarily?
There are several reasons one could conceive of.
I agree with the former Governor Ayo Fayose that this Government is not comfortable with the Olubadan for whatever reasons they might have to feel as such.
I also agree that they might be tempted to be considering embarrassing the old man but I am sure that they could only dream, they won’t dare.
Each time such devilish thoughts crossed their minds, I am sure they will always remember Rivers State.
I also know that Governor Seyi Makinde loves to create diversions any time he wants to take some decisions that affect his ego negatively.
I am aware of the fact that he would announce the choice of the political platform where his followers will pursue their political ambition in 2027 any time from now.
Doing that would mean that he has accepted defeat against Nyesom Wike finally and honestly, Governor Seyi Makinde is not going to enjoy that.
At any rate, some of us would ask him a few questions because, that would mean that he just pushed some aspirants to waste resources unnecessarily by asking them to spend money to erect Billboards with PDP logo.
If they throw the popcorn of an impeachment plot at us, some might be carried away, discussing an issue that never happened, while Governor Seyi Makinde quietly walked his stranded followers to a new political party.
Whatever the reasons they had, to have conceived of this worthless script of an impeachment plot, the scheme is dead on arrival.
