I had wanted to do something about the threats by Bimbo Adekanmbi during his interview with a popular Yoruba Broadcaster, sometimes this year.
During the interview, Bimbo Adekanmbi threatened that the All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo state will be completely decimated before the 2027 general elections.
He said, all he needed to do was to get in touch with his people in their village and once those ones cast a spell against the APC, everything will be over.
Adekanmbi was so sure about the potency of the spells from his village and at that time, in truth, things were really bad within Oyo APC.
Like I said, I had wanted to do something about Adekanmbi’s prophecy of doom for the APC against the reality of the present time, but a few issues cropped up and I had to prioritize those issues.
I will get back to the threats by Adekanmbi but I must treat two issues first and they also have to do with him, the Civil service in Oyo state, his political party, the Allied People’s Movement, APM and the Park Management System, PMS.
I read a report this hours ago where it was stated that the Gubernatorial candidate of the APM met with the Leadership of the Oyo state Civil service at the Local Government Service Commission Teaching Hall, Secretariat, Ibadan.
I have no problem with the fact that he met with the Leadership of the Oyo state Civil service. There is nothing morally, legally or ethically wrong with that.
However, I have a big problem with the fact that the meeting held within the State Government Secretariat and during office hours for that matter.
The question is, will Governor Seyi Makinde allow the candidates of other political parties to engage the Leadership of the Civil Service at the same venue where Bimbo Adekanmbi met with them?

Whatever is good for Bimbo Adekanmbi must equally be good for other Gubernatorial candidates.
It is unfortunate that the Governor would convert a facility within the Secretariat of the Oyo state Government to a venue where political meetings are held, but, like I said, I think the Governor must give assurances that candidates of opposition political parties will enjoy the same privilege like Adekanmbi.

I also want to react to a disturbing video which I saw on Tuesday morning.
In the video, I saw a Commercial Bus Driver slugging it out with a group of men who were identified as officers of the Park Management, System PMS.
The officers of the PMS were trying to fix a campaign banner bearing the pictures of Governor Seyi Makinde and Bimbo Adekanmbi on the rear glass of the fellow’s Bus, but he refused and an argument ensued.
Interestingly, the issue of those campaign banners suddenly surfacing in Ibadan was a topic of discussion between me and my elder brother a couple of days ago and I remember him telling me that those who had the banners affixed to the rear glass of their vehicles must have been forced to do so.
He was right! I just hope the commercial bus and car drivers are not being forced to pay for those banners.
For me, it is the height of desperation to be forcing commercial motorists to affix the banners of a political party to their vehicles against their wishes. However, that is what we are currently witnessing in Oyo state.
Let me now go back to Adekanmbi and his failed prophecy of doom against the APC.
From the events of recent weeks, it is obvious, that, whatever spells Adekanmbi’s village folks are casting against the APC, they are rather backfiring, working against Adekanmbi and the APM.

Miraculously, the APC kept waxing stronger, proceeding well with reconciliation and looking good on a daily basis to reclaim the Agodi Government House.
On the other hand, Adekanmbi’s political party, the APM have been hit by waves upon waves of exodus of influential party bigwigs and core members within the Government.
Sadly, almost everyone who left the APM eventually port in the APC!
What an Irony of reality?
Adekanmbi’s case now looks like the case of the bagworm moth caterpillar, ( Arigisegi). When the bagworm moth caterpillar gathers pecks of dry sticks, it carries it about on its head. ( Bi Arigisegi ba se igi, ori ara e nii fii gbe).
The APM has kept bleeding, while the APC keeps getting stronger and stronger by the day.
Will someone shout a big Alleluyah!!!
Sola Abegunde.
