Oyo APC just concluded its Congresses from the Ward to the State level.
The exercise was generally adjudged to be peaceful and rancour free across the 33 Local Governments.
Ibadan South West Local Government is a very critical and strategic Local Government.
Not only is it the Local Government with the highest voters registration, it is also a dynamic Constituency by every standards.
Politicians do not joke with Ibadan South West Local Government, as doing so, would definitely spell doom.
The election of party officials for Ibadan South West Local Government at the just concluded Congresses of the APC were well coordinated and generally acceptable owning to the efforts of the Apex Leadership.
The successes recorded, however, did not just come on a platter of Gold.
It was as a result of the efforts, planning, strategy and commitments of the Apex Leadership Coordinators of the APC in the Local Government.
In this regard, Chief Wale Ohu, Barrister Lowo Obisesan, Hon. Gbengaa Olayemi, ( ARIBA) are the Coordinators of the forum.
Engr. Ayo Olatunji is to moderate all sitting sessions of the forum as the Chairman.
These men coordinated very well and brought their wealth of experience to the table.
The Apex Leadership of Ibadan South West Local Government compromise of veteran politicians, former political office holders, former Council Chairmen, former political party Chairmen, State Party Executives and others who have distinguished themselves in several political offices.
You may say that Oyo APC just passed another phase and scaled another hurdle on the road to 2027 and you will be right.
However, the stakes ahead are even higher.
The next stage in the political calendar is party primaries and this is a more challenging task but Ibadan South West Local Government seems to be in save hands.
Together with the newly elected party officials, the Apex Leadership Coordinators should most certainly bring their wealth of experience to the table once again to ensure rancour free party primaries.
There is however a banana peel which must be avoided by critical Stakeholders.
The Apex Leadership in Ibadan South West APC is without doubt, capable of coming up with perfect arrangements of selecting party candidates for elective positions.
The question is, will they get the required support from higher organs of the party?
Will there not be attempts to impose candidates upon the party in the Local Government?
The caliber of people that make up the Apex Leadership of Ibadan South West APC should be able to hold their grounds against external interference from any quarters.
The Leadership of the party at all levels and critical Stakeholders must also give them the necessary support and backing to execute their plan.
They must learn from past experiences and avoid stepping on banana peels associated with imposition of candidates and undue interference.
If the Ibadan South West Apex Leadership are supported to execute their perfect plan for selection of party candidates without interference and undue influence, definitely, the APC in Ibadan South West Local Government would be home and dry.
