The ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC has announced extension of its ongoing electronic membership registration to capture all members of the across the 774 LGAs of the federation.
The decision to extend to the electronic membership registration and adjustment of congresses and national convention dates were reached at the 183rd meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), held on Friday, 30th January 2026, at the Party’s National Secretariat, Abuja.
According to the press statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka, the APC adopted that the electronic membership registration exercise be extended from 31st January 2026 to 8th February 2026, following requests from Party stakeholders. Morka said the extension is to enable more supporters and members to register and validate their membership.
The statement confirmed that Ward Congresses will hold on Wednesday, 18th February 2026, while the National Convention is now scheduled to be held on 27th–28th March 2026.
Morka however clarified that Osun State , Ekiti State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are excluded from scheduled Congresses due to upcoming elections, while Rivers State is excluded due to the subsisting tenure the current executive committees of the Party in the State.
The statement noted that the National Convention Planning Committee was duly constituted.
Morka stated that further details on the adjusted Congress and National Convention timetable and schedule of activities, and composition of the National Convention Planning Committee will be announced in due course.
