Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State have expressed profound appreciation for the impactful participation and strategic guidance delivered at the recent Oyo State APC Youth Summit, describing the engagement as timely and consequential for the future of the party in the state.
Participants commended the distinguished Key note Speaker Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi in his incisive and forward-looking address eloquently delivered, which clearly articulated key strategic initiatives that the Oyo State APC must urgently adopt to reposition the party for success. The speech resonated strongly with party faithful, particularly the youth, and underscored the importance of cohesion, structure, and strategic planning in rebuilding the party’s strength.
The summit also provided an invaluable opportunity for concerned stakeholders and emerging leaders to engage directly with a critical national stakeholder closely connected to the central leadership. This interaction highlighted a major challenge confronting the party in Oyo State: the persistent lack of synergy between the leadership core and committed grassroots followers.
Several panelists and Stakeholders noted that many dynamic, highly committed, and intellectually capable party members—who constitute the engine room for mobilization, delivery, and electoral success—have often been sidelined and inadequately recognized. This situation, they observed, has been exacerbated since the party lost control of the state, largely due to leadership lapses and internal disconnects.
The reward system of the Progressive folds must be improved upon as a matter of urgency to ensure cohesion, commitment and dedication among the party members.

The Oyo State APC political environment was described as complex, with several underlying factors and influences that may not be immediately apparent to external observers. Stakeholders emphasized the urgent need for sincere, inclusive, and systematic strategic planning, warning that without deliberate corrective action, opportunities for recovery may be missed.
While expressing confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu retains strong prospects nationally, stakeholders stressed that electoral success in Oyo State will require urgent interventions with sincerity of purpose, accurately and succinctly approaching issues with correct pragmatism in solutions.
Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi commended the Oyo APC Youth Summit initiatives, the organizers and the entire participants and encouraged them to sustain such impressive engagement which he described as novel, the first of its kind in recent times within the Nigeria political landscape.
It is very clear that there is truly hope for All Progressives Congress to reclaim power and control of governance in Oyo State and be convincingly victorious in all the various elections during the general elections in 2027.
