Governor Seyi Makinde, his anointed Gubernatorial candidate, Bimbo Adekambi, OdidiOmo and all manner of characters from the Allied People’s Movement, APM have been treating us to series of very suspicious, dangerous and unfortunate actions in the past few days.

I have been having a kind of conflict within me. I was thinking about which plate to open first, out of the plates of sour soup that Governor Seyi Makinde and his now, very dangerous elements have been dishing out to the public in recent times.
I am surprised that two lives have been lost to political violence in Oyo state within a space of 72 hours and Governor Seyi Makinde, the Chief Security officer for the state have decided to be mute about the unfortunate incidents.
What makes me worried the more, is the fact that on both occasions, the Allied People’s Movement of Governor Seyi Makinde and some elements within the Park Management System, PMS, have been identified as suspects by the victims.
There has been no official word from the Government of Oyo state and the Governor himself regarding these very unfortunate incidents.
To make matters worse, the APM, PMS and even the candidate of the APM for Oyo South Senatorial District, Stanley Babajide aka Odidi Omo had at one point or the other, made very unguarded and reckless comments which tend to disregard the sanctity of the lives lost.
I saw a video of Odidi Omo where he was addressing some people at Molete and perhaps , unknown to him, he was making very implicating statements.
He said, Molete belongs to the APM! So, you now ask, does it now follow that no political party, except the APM is allowed to campaign at Molete?
He was even using the opportunity to campaign for himself and the APM on the same ground where someone lost his life a few days before he visited and sadly, he was even threatening to sue Oriyomi Hamzat who said his campaign cap was taken from one of the assailants.
I listened to him saying that he had distributed over 200 thousand campaign caps and he wouldn’t be able to identify from whose head, the cap was taken!
Imagine that coming from the mouth of someone who lived abroad for several years.
A couple of weeks ago, his opponent, Hon. Remi Oseni of the All Progressives Congress, APC was attacked at a market place in Ibadan and now, he is being mentioned with respect to another controversial circumstance.
I can assure him that at the right time and the right place, he wouldn’t be talking the way he was talking Molete.
If Odidi Omo was bad, Bimbo Adekambi is terrible.
This evening, I read a statement from his Campaign organization, signed by one individual by the name of Moses Alao, the Deputy Director, Media and publicity for the Bimbo Adekambi campaign organization.
Let me quote certain paragraphs from the statement by Bimbo Adekambi and you will see what I’m talking about.
“… The statement called on SSACO ( Senator Sarafadeen Alli Campaign organization), to demonstrate responsibility and quit making senseless accusations that can jeopardize the efforts of security agencies in securing the state, noting that with the trend adopted by the APC candidate, criminals can begin to game the security system by disguising criminal activities as politically- motivated, knowing that some political parties will seek to trend with such heinous acts.”
Imagine that! To Bimbo Adekambi, the cries by the APC and well meaning Nigerians for Governor Seyi Makinde to call his rampaging thugs, who are masquerading as members of the PMS to order amounts to nothing.
To them, the two individuals who already lost their lives to alleged APM and PMS thugs count for nothing.
If that statement surprised you, wait for another one, it states and I quote “…we condemn, without equivocation, the allegations that supporters of the APM are responsible for foisting violence in Oyo state in recent times, including alleged attacks on one of Senator Alli’s countless Baby Mamas, Hon. Folake Osinowo-Olunloyo and the Accord Party”.
After I read the above paragraph, I had no iota of doubts that those who are congregating themselves around Governor Seyi Makinde and Bimbo Adekambi these days actually require an urgent medical check up.
Could it be that their adoption of the ” were” anthem at their political and official functions is beginning to take a toll on their reasoning and sensibilities?
How could a group of people continue to sing” were”, ” were ” all over the place and they won’t begin to misbehave?
Two individuals have been killed. One in the APC. The other one, in the Accord Party and in both scenarios, accusing fingers are strongly pointed towards your political party and all you could do is to get so low to be identifying someone’s Baby Mama?
Only an insane person is capable of acting like that.
We will not enter into the gutters with anyone, but, we owe the citizens of Oyo state the duty to ensure that no one, no matter how insane they are, will succeed in disrupting the peace of the state.
Makinde was in the opposition in 2019 and the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, to his credit, neither harassed or prevented him from campaigning all over the state.
If anyone is acting irresponsibly here, it is the Governor of Oyo state, who has a duty to ensure that citizens of the state go about their normal duties and activities without fear of intimidation, political activities inclusive.
Governor Seyi Makinde, Bimbo Adekambi and the APM are frustrated and desperate, no doubt, but, their frustration should be their own headaches and should not affect other political parties and citizens of Oyo state.
It is unfortunate that the APM will attack Senator Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli as if he is the chief security officer for the state.
Talk of irresponsibility, I have also read the presidency’s response to Governor Makinde’s allegations concerning the alleged withholding of the NLNG Dividends.
Naturally, I never took Governor Seyi Makinde serious ab initio. I knew it was one of his desperate measures.
I have also seen a very curious response to the presidency’s response, titled, ” You accepted NGF Findings Confirming 9trn Shortfall, Makinde Tells Presidency to Stop Lying to Nigerians”.
I urge anyone who has not read Governor Seyi Makinde’s purported response to the statement by the presidency to go and read it and you won’t need to bother yourself listening to our drowning Governor anymore.
I only have to point to one fact contained in the incongruously worded statement, it is claimed that the Nigerian Governor’s Forum, NGF is actually in possession of a document which could easily settle this argument.
According to the latest statement credited to Governor Seyi Makinde, the Vice Chairman of the NGF is Governor Makinde himself.
Why not publish the document?
I don’t know why Governor Seyi Makinde is already betraying a trauma that should follow his exit from office, while still having some months left in the office.
Why would I take such a person serious? The same Governor Makinde who threatened fire and brimstones while inaugurating a Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the abduction of Teachers and Pupils of Yawota and Esinele communities of Oriire Local Government and after the Commission submitted a report to him, he kept it under his Agbada?
At this rate, Governor Makinde would beat Bolaji Amusan, Baba Latin to the Comedian of the Year Award.
