The Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Dr. Zaccheus Adedeji, has been described as a rare gem and a remarkable blessing to humanity, endowed with uncommon capacity, strength, and intellect.
Senator Yunus Akintunde, the Distinguished Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, made this assertion while extending warm felicitations to Dr. Adedeji on the occasion of his birthday. In a statement made available to the media through his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Kunle Olatunji, Senator Akintunde described the NRS Chairman as a decent, highly cerebral, hardworking, kind-hearted, and benevolent leader who has continued to make tremendous impact on people around him through his various corporate and public service engagements.
According to the Senator, his relationship with Dr. Adedeji dates back to their service in the cabinet of the late former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, where Dr. Adedeji served as Commissioner for Finance, while he (Akintunde) was Commissioner for Works.
“Those moments of service left indelible positive impressions of his person and character on my mind and on many others. Even then, it was clear that he was destined for greater heights in service to humanity and, indeed, to our nation, Nigeria,” the Senator stated.
Senator Akintunde noted that he is not surprised by Dr. Adedeji’s remarkable progress and accomplishments, particularly in his current role as the helmsman steering Nigeria’s tax and revenue administration.
