Nollywood actor, Mr. Muideen Oladapo popular called Lala has narrated how he dumped vulcanizer apprenticeship for motorcycle repairer with the intention of satisfying his family’s wish contrary to what he personally wanted for himself.
Lala made the confession in an exclusive interview with BBC News Yoruba that highest qualification his father wanted for them is Primary School Leaving Certificate.
Mr. Oladapo said he was determined within himself to break the barrier and complete Senior Secondary School after attending AUD Primary School, Isale-Osun.
“After I learned motorcycle repairer for 6 years, I moved to Lagos where I joined the service of Bakery in Apogbon area where I worked on shifting basis”.
While recalling the year he joined theater practitioner, Mr. Oladapo said Dagunro Alakija Ogun’s group welcomed him in 1992 at Ebute Ero, Lagos.
“My journey into academic world regain its stand after i got personal tutor who took me through the core subjects after which I enrolled for Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) and passed all my subjects. The day I gained admission into Obafemi Awolowo University was the happiest day in my life and was like a dream come through”.
Mr. Oladapo said his quest for knowledge pushed him to enroll for Master’s Degree at the University of Lagos. Mr Oladapo said he won’t stop in seeking knowledge of western education.
