“Baba was, until his death, the Babasale Musulumi of Ibadan land. Beyond his title as an Islamic leader, Alhaji was a deep religious leader who espoused the tenets of Islam. In addition, he was a philanthropist of a note, which isn’t surprising, considering his closeness to the late Aare Arisekola Alao.

“In his lifetime, Baba had an unwavering commitment to the development of Ibadanland and Oyo state in general. I personally enjoyed his unflinching support and wise counsel, in the course or my journey.

“I commiserate with the immediate family, the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde; Aare Musulumi, Alh Dahud Akinola; the Chief Imam and entire Muslim Ummah in Ibadan land, and all his friends and associates.

“While we are pained by his passing, we are consoled with the facts that he lived a fulfilling and impacting life. I pray that Almighty Allah will grant him eternal rest and give all of us the fortitude to bear the loss”.
