The Pro Chancellor of Technical University, Ibadan and former Vice-Chancellor of University of Lagos Professor Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe died at the age 71.

His death was announced on Sunday evening in a statement signed by the institution’s Registrar, Olayinka Balogun.

“With heavy heart, and submission to the will of God I write to inform Council members of the transition to glory of Professor Oye Ibidapo-Obe, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, First Technical University, Ibadan which occurred 03/01/2021″.

Late Professor Ibidapo-Obe hails from Ile-ife, Osun state and had his primary education at African Church Primary School, Ebute Metta, secondary education at Obokun High School and Ilesa Grammar School. He attended University of Lagos for Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.

Until his death, he became Professor of Systems Engineering and a visiting Research Professor at Texas Southern University in Houston, United States of America.
