Team SMS, a group of political associates and supporters, has declared its support for the candidature of Barr. Seun Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu (TNA), the Allied People’s Movement (APM) candidate for Oyo Federal Constituency. The group said its decision was informed by its appreciation of Ashamu’s leadership, accessibility and commitment to the development of his people over the past 12 years since their paths crossed.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Hon. Adekola, Secretary of Oyo East Local Government and Coordinator of Team SMS, commended Ashamu’s contributions to Oyo Town and the wider constituency. He said Ashamu had facilitated more than 300 employment opportunities for Oyo indigenes and contributed to several developmental initiatives. Citing his own experience, Adekola noted that his current position as Secretary of Oyo East Local Government was made possible through Ashamu’s intervention and recommendation, describing this as a reflection of the candidate’s commitment to creating opportunities for others.
Also speaking, Hon. Saola Otaibayomi expressed appreciation to the APM leadership for presenting Ashamu as its candidate for Oyo Federal Constituency, describing him as a “round peg in a round hole.” He said Ashamu’s experience, competence and antecedents make him capable of providing the purposeful representation many constituents are seeking. Team SMS therefore reaffirmed its commitment to mobilising support for Ashamu, with its message of shared prosperity and collective progress: “Alubarika for me, you and all.”
