Tegbe Foundation, an initiative of Engr Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe on Saturday empowered hundreds of widows and physically challenged persons drawn across the 10 Local Governments in the Oke-Ogun Area of the state.
The beneficiaries who hail from the 10 Local Governments in the Oke-Ogun Area of the state got food items and cash gifts to support their businesses.
In his welcome address, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Mr Femi Adeleke noted that the Foundation has been contributing to the development of society, especially in Oyo State for over 6 years.
The Widows Relief Programme, powered by Tegbe Foundation is done in line with the Founder’s mission to combat poverty by reaching out to all sectors of the society, particularly the less privileged and indigents.
Speaking at the event, the Engr Olasunkanmi Tegbe said he started the Foundation over 6 years ago because he felt the need to give back to the society by alleviating the sufferings of the less-privileged, support the aged, indigents and the widows. He noted that the foundation is non-partisan in nature, and has assisted thousands of Oyo State indigenes and residents. He assured that he will continue to provide support and encouraged the needy to reach out to the Foundation through the Coordinators in the various local governments.
Prayers were held for the widows by various religious clerics. The event had in attendance religious leaders, elected Local Government Chairmen and other notable politicians
The Widows Relief is being held across different zones of the state on a rotational basis. Previous editions have been held in Ibadan and Oyo.
